Nola Elizabeth “Betty” Burnett Langner, 88, of Rushville died at 3:50 a.m. May 6, 2023, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehab Center where she also received care with Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.Nola Elizabeth “Betty” Burnett Langner, 88, of Rushville died at 3:50 a.m. May 6, 2023, at the Rushville Nursing and Rehab Center where she also received care with Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
She was born Jan. 13, 1929, in Rushville, the daughter of Carl Elton and Mary May Acheson Burnett. She married Maurice Henry Langner on May 23, 1948. He preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by one son, Jeff; and one daughter-in-law, Angie Rebman Langner.
Surviving are one daughter, Cathy (and Mike) Leahy of Cincinnati, Ohio; one grandson, Jeff (and Sarah) Gardocki of Cincinnati, Ohio; and three great-grandchildren.
She was a 1946 graduate of Rushville High School. She was employed at Rushville State Bank, The Rushville Times and was co-owner of the AppleTree Press. She was involved in many church and community activities including serving on the Arts Council for many years, the Phoenix Opera House committee, serving as Den Mother for Cub Scouts and 4-H Leader for many years.
Cremation has been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at noon on Friday at Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville with David Haney officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday.
