He was born July 5, 1935, at Bernadotte Township, a son of Kenneth Russell and Mary Olive Heath Lindsey. He married Sharon Painter on Jan. 25, 1953, in Astoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Durham and Coleen (and Joe) Kalb, both of Peoria, and Melody (and Dirk) Matthais of Itasca; two sons, Kent Lindsey of Delavan, Carroll Lindsey of Delaware, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, David John Lindsey; and two brothers, Donald Eugene Lindsey and Harold Dean Lindsey.
He was employed as a carpenter and millwright. He was a former member of San Jose United Methodist Church and a current member of Sheldons Grove United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Carpenters’ Union Local #644.
Cremation has been accorded. Services will be held at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
