She was born June 26, 1934, in Sheldons Grove, the daughter of Russell and Constance Crable Painter. She married Dale Lindsey on Jan. 28, 1953, in Astoria. He preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 2022.
They also were preceded in death by one son, John Lindsey; and one granddaughter, Jayme Lindsey.
Surviving are three daughters, Cynthia Durham of Peoria, Coleen Kalb and husband Joe of Peoria and Melody Matthais and husband Dirk of Itasca; two sons, Kent Lindsey of Delavan and Carroll Lindsey of Delaware, Ohio; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
They were members of the Sheldons Grove United Methodist Church and former members of the San Jose United Methodist Church. Sharon was a floral designer for over 50 years. Dale was a carpenter and millwright. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #644 for all of his life.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at their residence in Astoria with lay speaker Barbara Wooldridge officiating. Private inurnment will follow at Sheldons Grove Cemetery. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
