David “John” Lindsey

David "John" LindseyDavid John Lindsey, 62, of Astoria died at 5:44 p.m. Jan. 30, 2019, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 29, 1956, in Beardstown, a son of Dale E. and Sharon Painter Lindsey.

Surviving are his parents; four children, Victoria (and Pete) Lindsey Miller, David Lindsey, Saxon Lindsey and Uriah Lindsey; two brothers, Kent (and Chris) Lindsey of Delavan and Carroll Lindsey of Delaware, Ohio; and three sisters, Cynthia Durham and Coleen (and Joe) Kalb, both of Peoria and Melody (and Dirk) Matthais of Itasca.

He was a lifelong carpenter. He was a member of San Jose United Methodist Church and Carpenters Local #644 in Pekin. He taught himself leather crafting and while ill he made vests for family and friends. He also made and gave crosses to all the hospice workers to keep them safe while going from house to house.

A memorial service with inurnment will be in the Sheldons Grove Cemetery at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday on the family lot in the Sheldons Grove Cemetery with Rev. Robert Greene officiating. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
