Mildred "Pinky" LockardMildred L. “Pinky” Estes Lockard, 76, of Ipava, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999, at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.

She was born Aug. 31, 1923, in Farmington, a daughter of Roy Sr. and Elizabeth Benner Roberts. She married Leon Estes on Aug. 30, 1941, in Missouri. He died Nov. 11, 1947. She married Ross Lockard on July 16, 1974, in Maples Mill. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Chester L. (and Mary Kay) Estes of Ashkum and William (and Nancy) Estes of Dallas; one stepson, Gene (and Connie) Lockard of Ipava; two brothers, Roy Roberts Jr. of Farmington and Bernard Roberts of Canton; one stepbrother, William Johnson of Danville; one stepsister, Della McLane of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Emily, Christina and Steven Estes; and one stepgranddaughter, Beth Ellen Lockard Dungey.

One sister, Violet McCord; one stepbrother, Dean Johnson; one stepsister, Rosie Capron; and one stepgrandson, Todd Lockard, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Maples Mill United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.

She was the leader of Lace and Ladle 4-H Club in Fulton County.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home with Rev. Brian Culver officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.

Memorials may be made to Graham Hospital Hospice in Canton or to her church.
