Elizabeth Johnson Dies At Age 92

Elizabeth R. Johnson, 92, a resident of the Farmington Nursing Home for the past 2½ years, formerly of rural Farmington, died at 6:46 a.m. Friday, Dec. 26, 1989, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born March 6, 1897, in Fulton County, the daughter of Martin and Lu Netta (DeKeman) Benner. She first married Roy Roberts on Feb. 12, 1918. He died April 5, 1937. She later married Ira Johnson on July 30, 1938. He died Feb. 18, 1960.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Violet McCord, one grandchild, one step-grandchild, four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Bernard Roberts of Canton and Roy Roberts of Farmington; one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Lockard of Ipava; two stepsons, Dean Johnson of Canton and William Johnson of Lewistown; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Della L. McLane of Bloomington and Mrs. Rose Capron of Farmington; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

She was a member of the Cottonwood Community Club and the Fairview Friendly Neighborhood Club.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Anderson Funeral Home in Farmington with Rev. Mark K. Schleeter officiating. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.

Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad.
