VeteranBilly D. Lau Killed In Crash

Billy Dale Lau, 38, of Pawhuska, Okla., formerly of Astoria, was killed early Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 1985, in a pickup truck crash near Pawhuska.

He was born March 4, 1947, in Canton, a son of Howard and Bessie Pettit Lau. On March 27, 1971, he married Linda Kiel, in Springfield. She survives.

Also surviving are one son, Jason, and one daughter, Dawn, at home; his mother, Mrs. Bessie Lau of Phoenix., Ariz.; one brother, Larry (Susan) Lau, of Morton; and two sisters, Pat (Phillip) Patrick of Loami, Ill., and Lonnie Howard of Phoenix, Ariz.

Mr. Lau was a horse trainer. An Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he was a member of the Astoria American Legion and the VFW. He was a member of the Astoria Christian Church.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. this afternoon at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, with Rev. Charles Gaston officiating. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Jason and Dawn Lau Educational Fund.
