Alma Litchfield Of Industry Dies

Alma Litchfield, 85, of Industry, died at 3:48 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 1982, at the McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

Born Oct. 22, 1897, in Fairfield, she was the daughter of Christian and Elizabeth (Hollinger) Gruber. She married Dewey Litchfield June 1, 1918, in Astoria. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Maurice and Marshall, both of rural Macomb; three daughters, Mrs. Maxine Greuel of Industry, Mrs. Mary Botts of Madison, Wis., and Mrs. Mildred Beans of Vermont; three sisters, Mrs. Mabyl Burton, Mrs. Irma Wherley and Mrs. Glenna Grissom, all of Astoria; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son who died in infancy and a sister.

Mrs. Litchfield was a member of the United Methodist Church of Industry and the women’s group of the church.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the church with Rev. Tom Wilber officiating. Burial was in the Industry Cemetery.
