Aged Astoria Resident Dies

Abram H. Lind Passed Away Here Thursday At Advanced Age Of 86

Abraham H. Lind, a well known resident, residing south of Astoria, died Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the home of Mrs. Mary Wickert on East Broadway. Death was attributed to old age. He was aged 86 years, 5 months and 16 days.

Mr. Lind was born on a farm near Astoria, where he had lived until he was brought to town to be cared for during his last illness. He was born August 18, 1856, the son of Michael and Mariah (Hoff) Lind. He was united in marriage to Susan Wherley, in 1877, who survives.

Mrs. Lind is also staying at the Mrs. Wickert home, being cared for.

Other survivors include two brothers, David Lind, Astoria, and Michael Lind, Bader. Twelve sisters and brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Lind was a member of the Dunkard Brethren church. He had been totally blind for several years.

Funeral services were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the South Fulton church with the Rev. Howard Dickey of Peoria officiating, assisted by the Rev. Lester Fike of the Astoria Church of the Brethren. Burial was in the South Fulton cemetery.
