Joe P. Kucera Dies At Age 62Joe P. Kucera Dies At Age 62Joe P. Kucera, 62, of Astoria, died at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 1990 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born Dec. 16, 1927, in Lincoln, Neb. to Bo and Rose Ellen Pekny Kucera. He married Rose Marie MacFarlane. She died in 1950. He later married Leona Girard on June 21, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nev. She survives.
Also surviving are two stepsons, Jim Meehan of Astoria and Jerry Meehan of Los Angeles; one stepdaughter, Linda Seward of Minneapolis; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Leonard of Moyle Springs, Idaho, William of Yuma, Ariz., and Albert of Modesto, Calif.
He was preceded in death by one stepson and four brothers.
He was a World War II Navy veteran.
He was a member of Summum Christian Church where services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Steve Castaneda officiating. Burial was in Astoria Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home of Astoria was in charge of services.
