Jim MeehanJim Meehan, 77, of Astoria died at 5:20 p.m. Nov. 10, 2014, at Renaissance Care Center in Canton.

He was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Canton, a son of Franklin and Leona Girard Meehan. He married Norma Jean Trimpe on May 7, 1960, in Havana. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Dick (and Stacey) Meehan of Astoria and Rob (and Jeanne) Meehan of Table Grove; one daughter, Gina (and Danny) Taylor of Canton; one brother, Jerry (and Lois) Meehan of Malibu, Calif.; three half-brothers, Bill (and Shirley) Meehan of Sacramento, Calif., Tom (and Denise) Meehan of Loomis, Calif., and Jim (and Corkey) Meehan of Susanville, Calif.; two half-sisters, Linda (and Jeff) Emonds of Arlington, Va., and Susan Bargas of Sacramento, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

He was a foreman at Peoria Blacktop for 32 years and he farmed.

He was a member of Summum Christian Church where he served as an Elder.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Ken Peterson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the memorial home. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to his church or Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
