Mrs. Edie Kinkead Of Astoria Dies

Mrs. Edie E. Kinkead, 89, of Astoria, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 1979, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born July 23, 1890, in Ipava, a daughter of Jeffrey and Louisa Zimmerman Weese and married Roy B. Kinkead Dec. 24, 1911, in Ipava. He died in October 1940.

Mrs. Kinkead was a retired restaurant cook and a member of Astoria Christian Church.

Surviving are two sons, Harold of Astoria, and Herbert of Creve Coeur; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Maxwell of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Siler of Blandinsville, and Mrs. Vera Fayhee of Ipava.

One granddaughter and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services were to be held at 1 p.m. this afternoon at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in the Summum Cemetery.
