Astorian’s Father Dies Wednesday

Boyd Kersh, 79, of 619 W. Lincoln, Lewistown, a retired farmer, died at 9:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 1974, at Graham Hospital, where he was admitted late in the afternoon.

Born in Virginia on July 8, 1894, he was a son of Stephen and Agnes Kersh. He married Maude Shifflett in Virginia Oct. 26, 1916. She died Dec. 20, 1965.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Elaine Danner of Astoria; two sons, Kenneth of Peoria, and Kemper of Farmington; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Ann Lee Kersh and Mrs. Eunice Thompson, both of Harrisonburg, Va.

One daughter, five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Kersh was a member of Cuba Assembly of God Church and Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the church, with Rev. L. P. Spratt officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery.
