Mrs. Lena Kahnert Dies In Kansas

Mrs. Lena Alice Kahnert of Arkansas City, Kans. died March 14 in the Arkansas City Valley Nursing Home.

She was born June 27, 1885 in Moline, Kans., the eldest daughter of Manford L. and Irene Elizabeth Meegan Shawver. On July 10, 1904 she was united in marriage to Parley Ross Tyler who died Feb. 22, 1941 in Blackwell, Okla. On Sept. 30, 1942 she was married to A. J. Kahnert in Oklahoma City, Okla., who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Robert Leslie Tyler of Canton and Perry R. Tyler of Chicago; three daughters, Mrs. Russell J. (Velma) Thompson of Astoria, Mrs. Ruby Thomas of Elkhart, Ind., and Mrs. Bonnie Jane Thurnell of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Livida Tate of Elisnore, Calif.; one half sister, Mrs. Nina Mae White of Oklahoma; three stepsons, Elmer Kahnert of Washington, Art Kahnert of Alva, Okla., and Waldo Kahnert of Lyons, Kans.; one stepdaughter of Denver, Colo.; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 4 step-grandchildren. One sister and one brother preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Arkansas City.

Funeral services were held March 17 at 2 p.m. in the Rindt Memorial Chapel with Rev. Myron C. Maltz officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lane Cemetery in Arkansas City, Kans.

Mother Dies In Kansas

Mrs. Velma L. Thompson of Astoria, Mrs. Ruby Thomas of Elkhart, Ind. and Mr. and Mrs. Perry Tyler of Chicago were called to Arkansas City, Kans. due to the death of their mother Mrs. A. J. Kahnert.
