Barbara HaneyBarbara Jeanne Williams Haney, 81, of Vermont and Camden, died at 5:40 p.m. May 9, 2018, at Heritage Health in Beardstown.

She was born Sept. 9, 1936, in Browning, the daughter of Russel Wayne and Marcella L. Curtis Kennedy. She first married Ellis “Al” Williams on Nov. 3, 1956, in Rushville. She later married Phillip “John” Haney Sr. on Nov. 6, 1993, in Vermont. He preceded her in death on Dec. 1, 2016.

She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Marcie Williams; one stepson, Phillip Eugene “Joe” Haney Jr.; and one stepdaughter, Cheryl Ann Thomas.

Surviving are three children, Roxanne (and Scott) Morey of Springfield, Alan Williams of Rushville and Susanne (and Ed) Hendricks of Mount Sterling; one stepson, Steve (and Tess) Haney of Vermont; one stepdaughter, Sharon (and Randall) Stracker of Table Grove; six grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; 22 step great-grandchildren; and one cousin who was raised as a brother, Gary (and JoAnn) Kennedy.

A 1955 graduate of Quincy Beauty Academy, she was a hairdresser first in the Chicago area. Later she operated Barbara Beauty Shop in Camden for over 50 years, retiring in 2007. She also was the hairdresser at the Golden Good Shepherd Home in Golden for over 30 years.

She was a member of Camden United Methodist Church and attended Vermont United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Schuyler Home Extension.

Services were held Tuesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Robert Greene officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.
