Marcella KennedyMarcella L. Kennedy, 92, of Rushville died at 8:47 a.m. Dec. 31, 2010, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born Nov. 9, 1918, a daughter of Frank and Bertha Cook Curtis. She married Russel Wayne Kennedy on Feb. 19, 1936, in Macomb. He preceded her in death on Nov. 30, 2004.

She also was preceded in death by one granddaughter, LeAnn Hoover; her stepfather, Clarence Reno, who raised her; one nephew, Terry Kennedy; one brother, William Curtis; and one sister, Alleynne Guleserian.

Surviving are one daughter, Barbara Jean (and Phillip “John”) Haney of Vermont; one nephew whom she raised, Gary (and JoAnn) Kennedy of Camden; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker and farmer in the Camden area retiring in March 1976, where she and her husband raised and showed Society horses and later Quarter horses.

After moving to Rushville, they broke Belgians and Haflinger horses to drive.

She was a member of Camden United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women and Schuyler County Home Extension.

Services were held Monday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Gary Bass and Reverend Dixie Croxton officiating. Burial was in Rushville City Cemetery.
