Dorothy HellerDorothy Evelyn Heller, 97, of Table Grove died at 9:15 p.m. March 6, 2016, at Heartland Health Care Center in Canton.

She was born April 3, 1918, in Farmers Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Oma and Essie France Chambers. She married George W. Heller on Dec. 8, 1937, in Palmyra, Mo. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 2014.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen and Ronald Heller; and two sisters, Mildred Hickenbottom and Marjorie Gilmore.

Surviving are two daughters, Dorla (and Bill) Adamson of Bartonville and Janet (and Lee) Cobb of Macomb; two sons, Don (and Becky) Heller of Ipava and Rick (and Kathy) Heller of Canton; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She attended North Hickory School and graduated from Table Grove Community High School. She worked as a caregiver for Mrs. M. Ruth. She also was a house wife and farm wife. She provided room and board during Camp Ellis.

She was active in the Fulton County Home Extension and Table Grove Community Church for several years.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Pastor Tim Lindsay officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Bernadotte Park, Table Grove Community Church or the Table Grove Rescue Squad.
