Marjorie HaneyMarjorie “Betty” Haney, 88, of Rushville, formerly of Vermont, died at 5:12 a.m. Jan. 1, 2008, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

She was born June 25, 1919, in Vermont, the daughter of Harvey David “Bob” and Verna Lee Carter Corbitt. She married Perry Lee Haney on March 5, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Ed Haney of Rushville; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley and Larry Haney (infant); one daughter, Geneva “Jenny” Wilson; two brothers, Bernard and Philip Corbitt; one grandson, Bernard “Buddy” Haney; and one infant great-granddaughter, Samantha Haney.

Betty and her husband farmed in the Vermont area.

She was a member and officer of both the Vermont United Methodist Church and Vermont American Legion Auxiliary.

Services were held Saturday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Rev. Robert Greene officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
