Perry HaneyPerry Lee Haney, 91, of Rushville, formerly of Vermont, died at 8:37 a.m. Nov. 8, 2010, at Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.

He was born July 28, 1919, in Schuyler County, a son of Willis and Grace (Shroeder) Haney. He married Marjorie “Betty” Corbett on March 5, 1940, in Palmyra, Mo. She preceded him in death on Jan. 1, 2008.

He also was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley and Larry Haney (infant); one daughter, Geneva “Jenny” Wilson; one grandson, Bernard “Buddy” Haney; one infant great-granddaughter, Samantha Haney; one sister, Margie Smith; and one brother, Charles Haney.

Surviving are one son, Ed Haney and friend Linda Billingsley of Rushville; one son-in-law, Roger Wilson of Vonore, Tenn.; two brothers, Gerald Haney of Florida and Phillip “John” (and Barbara) Haney Sr. of Vermont; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He and his wife farmed in the Vermont area and he also worked at Sears Slaughter House in Vermont.

He was a member of Vermont United Methodist Church and Farm Bureau.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville with Reverend Robert Greene officiating. Burial will follow in Vermont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials may be made to Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home in Rushville.
