Charles Haney

Charles E. Haney, 89, of Auburn, formerly of Colchester, died June 12, 2007, at Auburn Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was born July 11, 1917, in Vermont, a son of Willis and Grace Schroder Haney. He married Maxine Beaty on Aug. 13, 1941, in Wichita, Kan. She died May 17, 1994.

He also was preceded in death by one son, Frank; and one sister, Marjorie Smith.

Surviving are three brothers, Phillip (and Barbara) of Vermont, Gerald of Florida and Perry (and Betty) of Rushville; and four grandchildren.

He was involved in farming and dairy farming, and was a custodian at Colchester Unit 180 School.

He was a member of First Christian Church in Colchester.

Services were held Friday at Jones Mortuary in Colchester with Rev. Milton Cruz officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
