Melba Huff

Melba L. Huff, 72, of Lewistown died at 3:24 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2001, at Mason District Hospital emergency room in Havana.

She was born June 13, 1924, in Woodland Township, Fulton County, a daughter of Earl and Nettie Elizabeth Walters Wherley. She married Ronald E. Huff on June 9, 1946, in Ipava. He survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Leah (and John) Wardell of Bloomington, Marian (and Jerry) Auxier of Cuba and Cassie (and Thomas) Ginglen of Pekin; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one brother, Willis (and Anne) Wherley of Decatur.

Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

She worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria.

She was a member of Woodland Church of the Brethren.

Services were held today at 10:30 a.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery.
