Ronald R. Huff, 82, of Lewistown died at 7:03 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at Mason District Hospital in Havana.

He was born July 14, 1921, in Ipava, a son of Archie and Lucy Arnold Huff. He married Melba Louise Wherley on June 9, 1946, in Ipava. She died Dec. 22, 2001.

He also was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Blemler and Esther Huff.

Surviving are three daughters, Leah (and John) Wardell of Bloomington, Marian (and Jerry) Auxier of Cuba and Cassie (and Thomas) Ginglen of Pekin; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A World War II Army veteran, he received three Bronze Stars.

He was a member of Lewistown American Legion Post 1 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001.

He was a lifelong farmer and worked for Illinois Power in Havana for 34 years.

He was a member of Ipava Christian Church in Ipava.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Kevin Kessler officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown American Legion Post 1, Lewistown Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5001 or Mason District Hospital in Havana.
