CECIL E. HEITZ

Cecil E. Heitz, 70, of Vermont, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at 1:10 p.m. at McDonough District Hospital ER in Macomb.

He was born July 26, 1929, in Rushville, a son of Roy R. and Vernie B. Jones Heitz. He married Nancy Little on Jan. 24, 1953, in Astoria. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Monte (Rebecca) Crossman and Mrs. Scotty (Susan) Parr, both of Vermont, and Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Coats of Macomb; one son, Chris (Kelly) Heitz of Vermont; eight grandchildren; two step-grandsons; and one brother, Roy Laverne Heitz of Cuba.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a farmer.

He was a member of the Astoria Church of the Brethren, where services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Gary Schultz and Kevin Sager officiating. Visitation will be held today from 6-8 p.m. at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Burial will be in Vermont Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad or to the Astoria Church of the Brethren Building Fund.
