Mrs. Lillie Hummer, 74, Found Dead

Mrs. Lillie M. Hummer, 74, of Table Grove was found dead in her home at approximately 4 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 11, 1980. Mrs. Hummer, who had been under a doctor’s care, apparently died of natural causes.

Born Feb. 19, 1906, in Fulton County, she was the daughter of Orson B. and Eva Belle Fraikes Ames. She was married to Henry F. Hummer on April 4, 1937, in Astoria. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by five daughters, Mary Hummer of West Burlington, Iowa, Linda Conley of Fairmont City, Rose Gamm of Lewistown, Janet Besideri of Cicero, and Wilma Fitch of Bushnell; five grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Ames of Astoria and Jess Ames of Table Grove. One sister preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hummer was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Howard Keim officiating. Burial was in Woodland Cemetery.
