Richard Horwedel Dies In Hospital

Richard K. Horwedel, 76, of Vermont, died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, 1980, at Culbertson Memorial Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Dec. 23, 1903 in McDonough County, the son of George C. and Constance Kelly Horwedel. He married Beulah B. Gorsage on June 14, 1924 in Virginia, Ill.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Robert K. of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and George R. of Vermont; two daughters, Mrs. Betty C. Danner and Mrs. Lois Jean Wharton, both of Vermont; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred K. and Vernon C., both of Vermont; and one sister, Mrs. Gladys L. Kirkbride of Vermont.

He was a farmer and had worked several years at Ken-Ray Foundry in Vermont. He was a member of the Vermont United Methodist Church and Modern Woodman of America Canton 581.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Vermont United Methodist Church with Rev. Claude Curry officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
