Robert Horwedel

Robert K. Horwedel, 95, of Fort Wayne, Ind., died Jan. 8, 2021, at Chandler Senior Place Living in Kendallville, Ind.

He was born April 25, 1925, in Vermont, a son of Richard and Beulah Horwedel.

Surviving are two daughters, Emily (and Troy) Musselman of Kendallville, Ind., and Janet (and John) Wagner of Huntington, Ind.; two sisters, Lois Jean Wharton of Macomb and Betty Ford of Galesburg; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Marie Horwedel; and one brother, George R. Horwedel.

He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy.

He retired as a General Foreman at International Harvester.

A graveside service was held Saturday, Jan. 16, at Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Ind. Hockemeyer Miller Funeral Home in Fort Wayne, Ind., was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials in Robert’s honor may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
