Earl W. Hay Dies At Age 80

Earl W. Hay, 80, of Lewistown, a retired farmer, died Saturday in his home. He had been a lifetime resident of Fulton and McDonough counties.

He was born Dec. 31, 1889 near Ipava, a son of Marion and Phenie Plate Hay. He was married to Mabel Boreen on Feb. 15, 1914.

She survives, along with one daughter, Mrs. Chester (Viola) Chipman of Lewistown; one son, Dale M. Hay of Concord; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Emmor Hay of Canton; and one sister, Lola of Bettendorf, Iowa. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Mr. Hay was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Rebecca Lodge, both in Vermont.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday afternoon in Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. John Pereboom officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Macomb.
