Viola Chipman

Viola ChipmanViola A. Chipman, 98, of Lewistown died at 4:26 p.m. Nov. 7, 2013, at Clayberg Nursing Home in Cuba.

She was born April 26, 1915, in Macomb, the daughter of Earl W. and Mabel Boreen Hay. She married Chester C. Chipman on Oct. 6, 1938, in Vermont. He died Nov. 27, 2009.

She also was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Orin Chipman; one brother; one grandson; and one great-grandson.

Surviving are two sons, Dean E. (and Sandy) Chipman of Ipava and Eldon L. (and Linda) Chipman of Lewistown; two daughters, Karen A. (and Jack) Lofton of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Kathryn S. (and Jeff) Hadsall of Lewistown; 19 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown; Lewistown Rebecca Lodge #566; and a former member of LAPM Macomb #9 and New Hope Sew and So Club.

Services were held Monday at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Reverend Danie deBeer officiating. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown.
