Thomas E. Howe Dies At Age 82

Thomas E. Howe, 82, died Monday evening in the Americana Nursing Home in Macomb following six weeks of illness. He was a lifetime resident of the Astoria area.

He was born March 3, 1884 in Isabel Township, a son of Samuel and Nannie E. Brown Howe. He was married to Grace Long on Dec. 22, 1910, in St. Louis. She preceded him in death on July 9, 1965.

Survivors include 4 daughters: Miss Pierapont Howe and Mrs. Onilee Merrill, both of Astoria; Mrs. Melva Bucher of Abingdon and Mrs. June Scott of Independence, Mo.; 3 sons: Charles Howe of Lewistown; Max Howe of Macomb, and Herbert Howe of Astoria; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. One daughter and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Forrest Wise officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday afternoon and evening at Shawgo's in Astoria.
