Edward Heflin, Vermont, Dies From Heart Attack

Edward Beatty Heflin, 68, of Vermont, died suddenly at his home in Vermont Friday night about 8:30 from a heart attack. He was preparing to go to bed when he suffered the attack and died in a few minutes. He had not had any previous illness and had worked all day the day before.

Mr. Heflin was born Sept. 17, 1887 in Vermont and was the son of Joseph E. and Lutie Sales Heflin. On Aug. 26, 1910 he was married to Mary Pratt of Ipava, who survives. He had lived in Vermont his entire life and was a plasterer and painter. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Jack Ebbert, Astoria, and Ivan Jo., Vermont; three brothers, Frank of Burbank, Calif., Fred and Clifford, Vermont; two visitors, Mrs. Bessie Padgett, Canton, Mrs. Beatrice Seymour, Vermont, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:00 at the Vermont Methodist church, with the Rev. H. D. Simmons, officiating. Interment in the Vermont cemetery.
