John Harrah Dies Saturday State Hospital

John W. Harrah, died Saturday at the Peoria State Hospital where he had been a patient for twenty-five days.

Mr. Harrah was born June 22, 1886, near Sedalia, Mo., a son of Luther M. and Josephine Harrah. With the family he moved to near Bushnell when quite young.

He was married to Hazel Ames at Bardolph, June 21, 1908. She passed away in 1915, leaving him with two children, Mrs. Gladys White of Minneapolis, Minn., and Neal Harrah of Davenport, Iowa.

On February 12, 1924 he was united in marriage to Maggie Corman, and to this union three daughters were born, Mrs. Mary Ellen Daniels and Mrs. Maggie Schaefer, both of Havana and Mrs. Helen Blue of Astoria, all of whom with two stepsons Ambrose Corman of Havana and Harold Corman of Chicago, survive, together with seven grandchildren; also two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Curtan and Mrs. Helen King.

His life was spent in farming, mostly around Bushnell. Since coming to Astoria five years ago, he united with the E. U. B. church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the E. U. B. church, Astoria, conducted by Rev. Fred Thompson. Burial in Bushnell cemetery.
