Maggie Harrah Dies In Havana

Maggie A. Harrah, 92, of Havana Health Care Center, formerly of Astoria, died at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 1990, at the center in Havana.

She was born Jan. 16, 1898, in Watertown, S.D., a daughter of Peter and Maggie McLean Gilruth. She married Elmo Corman on Aug. 9, 1916, in Rushville. He died in 1920. She later married John Harrah on Feb. 12, 1925. He died in December 1950.

She also was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

Surviving are three daughters, Mary Daniel of Havana, Helen Blue of Astoria and Maggie Schaefer of Roach, Mo.; two sons, Ambrose Corman of Vancouver, Wash., and Harold Corman of Jefferson City, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Barnes of Galesburg.

She was a retired cook and a member of Astoria United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Bushnell Township Cemetery in Bushnell with Collis Trone officiating. Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria was in charge of arrangements.
