Ramona GorsageRamona M. Gorsage, 86, of Chatham died Dec. 12, 2016, at Memorial Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 14, 1929, in Sheldons Grove, a daughter of Russell and Connie Crable Painter. She married James W. Gorsage on Nov. 26, 1947. He preceded her in death in 1996.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie and Larry Painter; and one sister, Norma Morano.

Surviving are three daughters, Janice (and Marvin) Williams of Ashland, Debra (and Dale) Adomitis of Bulpitt, Melodi (and Dirk) Mattheis of Itasca; one son, Mike (and Karen) Gorsage of Chatham; one sister, Sharon (and Dale) Lindsay of Astoria; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

She retired in 2004 after a 40-year career at Memorial Medical Center that began as an OB tech and certified nursing assistant. At retirement, she served as a secretary and instructor for new clerical staff for organ donation and transplants.

She was a member of Methodist Church in Sheldons Grove. She has lived in the Chatham area since 1947 and was currently a resident at Villas of South Park.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Funeral ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the memorial home with Paula Staab Polk as funeral celebrant. Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
