Louise GossageLouise Gossage, 94, of Rushville died at 4:20 p.m. March 21, 2015, at her home.

She was born March 18, 1921, in Table Grove, a daughter of John J. and Druzilla Irwin Bankes. She married Lyle E. Gossage on May 22, 1937, in Rushville. He preceded her in death on May 16, 1996.

She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Bankes and Leonard Bankes; and three sisters, Bessie Gilmore, Minnie Butler and Clarine Palmer.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Horlick and Karen (and James) Hopkins, both of Rushville; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was a cook at the Hill Nursing Home and Snyder’s Vaughn-Haven Nursing Home, both in Rushville, retiring in 1990. She also was a waitress at several restaurants.

She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Good Hope Cemetery, north of Rushville with Pastor Mike Hall officiating. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wood Funeral Home in Rushville.

Memorials may be made to Cass-Schuyler Area Hospice.
