She was born July 11, 1938, in Camden, a daughter of Lyle E. and Louise Bankes Gossage.
Surviving are one sister, Karen (and James) Hopkins of Rushville; three nieces, Tangy (and Charles) Steinacher of Waverly, Melinda Hopkins of Quincy and Dixie Hopkins of Rushville; and one nephew, James Allan Hopkins Jr. of Rushville.
She worked as waitress, school bus driver and corrections officer. For a time she lived in California, before returning to Rushville. She then worked as a dispatcher for the Mount Sterling Police Department and with the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Good Hope Cemetery, north of Rushville. The Wood Funeral Home in Rushville is in charge of arrangements.
