CLARINE F. (BANKES) PALMER

Clarine Palmer

Clarine F. Palmer, 83, of the Prairie View Health Care Center and formerly of Spoon River Towers in Lewistown, died at 12:10 p.m. Monday at the health care center.

She was born July 20, 1912, in Fulton County, a daughter of John and Druzzila (Irwin) Bankes. She married Henry Palmer on June 27, 1931, at Virginia, Ill. He died July 20, 1956. She was also preceded in death by one stepson, three sisters and one step-great-grandson.

Surviving are three sons, Everett Palmer of Milwaukee, Ore., Carroll Palmer and Roger Palmer of Lewistown; two daughters, Maxine Loose of Portland, Ore., and Shirley McCance of Ipava; 17 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; and two step great, great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Bankes of Canton and Leonard Bankes of Rushville; and one sister, Louise Gossage of Rushville.

She was a member of the Woodland Church of the Brethren near Astoria.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Cemetery at rural Astoria with Rev. Robert Reeise officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to her church.

Henry Memorial Home in Lewistown is in charge of arrangements.
