LINDA L. (AGANS) GAIN

Linda Gain

Linda GainLinda L. Gain, 67, of Petersburg died at 2 p.m. Nov. 20, 2006, at her home.

She was born Jan. 21, 1939, near Camden, a daughter of Fred W. and Naomi Morrell Agans. She married Joel L. Gain on Oct. 28, 1962, in Vermont. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Daniel (and Cathy) and James (and My), both of Springfield, and Andrew (and Lonny) of Petersburg; two brothers, Faryl (and Pat) Agans of Hillsboro and David (and Mary) Agans of Gaffney, Ala.; one sister, Harriett (and Jim) McGaughey of Vermont; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Peggy Powers.

She graduated from VIT High School and Flight Attendant School in Kansas City.

She worked as bookkeeper for Alexander Lumber Co. in Rushville and assisted her husband in the woodworking business. She also worked at St. John's Hospital in Springfield for 10 years, retiring in 1999.

She taught Sunday school and was a homeschool teacher.

She attended the Baptist Church in Petersburg and Athens.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria with Rev. Billy Sexton officiating. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Astoria Cemetery.
