Fred W. Agans Dies At Age 70

Fred W. Agans, 70, of Hillsboro, formerly of Vermont, died at 12:15 a.m. Sept. 10, 1981, at his home.

Born June 14, 1911, in Schuyler County, a son of Fred and Clara Marlow Agans, he married Naomi Morrell June 17, 1933, in Rushville. She died Sept. 9, 1975. He married Mrs. Jule M. Langford June 10, 1981, in Hillsboro. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Faryl and Clarence, both of Hillsboro; three daughters, Mrs. Linda Gains of Petersburg, Mrs. Peggy Pace of Oildale, Calif., and Mrs. Harriett McGaughey of Vermont; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, Tom and Ora, both of Rushville; and two sisters, Mrs. Harlan (Margia) Sharer of Milan and Mrs. Murray (Martha) Stakes of Rossville, Ga.

One brother preceded him in death.

He was a semitrailer truck driver, retiring five years ago. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. of Vermont.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Kost Memorial Home in Vermont with Rev. Dan Roberts officiating. Burial was in Vermont Cemetery.
