JOHN L. GAIN

John Gain

John L. Gain of Pueblo, Colo., formerly of Chillicothe, died at 2:32 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 1995, in Pueblo.

He was born March 15, 1914, in Astoria, a son of William A. and Corda Mae Onion Gain. He married June Anderson on Aug. 23, 1937, in Cameron, Mo. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Carol June Hallock of Peoria; three sons, Jerry Ernest of Farmington, John Steven of Chillicothe and Jack Raymond of Las Cruces, N. M.; one sister, Alice France of Peoria; two brothers, Raymond of Pompano Beach, Fla., and Melvin of Bushnell; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

One son, five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He owned and operated Gain’s Florist in Peoria and Chillicothe for 45 years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of Florist Telegraph Delivery, Telegraph Delivery Service and the South Side Businessmen’s Association in Peoria.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Weber Funeral Home with Rev. David Troyer officiating. Burial was in LaSalle Cemetery in Chillicothe.
