Rosa Foster

Rosa Lee Foster, 88, of Macomb died at 9:59 a.m. Oct. 4, 2007, at her residence.

She was born Sept. 7, 1919, in Fulton County, near Table Grove, a daughter of Jacob and Mariah Waggle Shank. She married Howard A. Foster on Aug. 16, 1939. He died July 13, 1980.

She also was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth; one sister, Marie Robinson; and one brother, Lyle Shank.

Surviving are three sons, Larry (and Janet) Foster of Bushnell, Leroy (and Vivian) Foster of Macomb and Donald “Butch” (and Arlene) Foster of Bushnell; one foster son, Donald (and Marlene) Durga of Ipava; two sisters, Anna (and Vernon) Henderson of Lewistown and Florine Bucy of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Ralph (and Wilma) Shank of Little America, Gilton (and Ann) Shank of Rochester, Wash., and Dan (and Wilma) Shank of Canton; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

She moved to rural Macomb in 1951, and into Macomb in 1977. She worked at McDonough District Hospital for 27 years as a nurse’s aide and a respiratory therapist.

She was involved with the MDH employees’ monthly dinner meetings.

Services were held Monday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb with Rev. Wally Holt officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery, west of Table Grove.
