RUBY E. (CHENOWETH) FREDERICK

Ruby E. Frederick, 79, of Table Grove died at 8:43 a.m. Monday, June 7, 2004, at McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was born March 11, 1925, in Table Grove, a daughter of Ross and Stella Corey Chenoweth. She married Leland Wayne Frederick on Jan. 15, 1947, in Ipava. He died July 18, 2001.

She also was preceded in death by four sisters, Verna Heraty, and Hazel, Gladys and Mary Chenoweth; and three brothers, Amos, Archie and Virgil Chenoweth.

Surviving are two sons, Rodney (and Mary) of Table Grove and Gary (and Rhonda) of Bushnell; two daughters, Kathy (and Herbert) Snowden of Table Grove and Cindy (and Greg) Jones of Peoria; five grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley Hamm of Lewistown.

She owned and operated Red-White Grocery in Table Grove and also was a licensed practical nurse for 30 years at area doctors' offices, nursing homes and McDonough District Hospital in Macomb.

She was a World War II veteran, a corporal in the Women's Army Corps.

She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Table Grove American Legion Post 413 Auxiliary.

She was a member of Table Grove Community Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at her church with Ed Barrett officiating. Burial will be in Harris Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 413. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to Table Grove Rescue Squad.
