Shirley Hamm

Shirley Jean Hamm, 78, of Lewistown died at 1 p.m. April 29, 2007, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born April 15, 1929, in Bernadotte, a daughter of Ross and Stella Corey Chenoweth. She married Robert Lee Hamm on Feb. 23, 1952, in Ipava. He died April 25, 2003.

She also was preceded in death by five sisters, Verna Heraty, Ruby Frederick, and Hazel, Mary and Gladys Chenoweth; and three brothers, Amos, Archie and Virgil Chenoweth.

Surviving are one son, Bob (and Rene) of Lewistown; one daughter, Connie (and Howard) Derby of Lewistown; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was a licensed practical nurse at OSF St. Francis Neurological Department for 10 years, cooked at Myers Cafe in Middlegrove and was a homemaker.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and The Creative Home Arts Club.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Calvin MacKay officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home in Ipava. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Lewistown Rescue Squad or Fulton County Humane Society.
