Leland W. Frederick, 84, of Table Grove died at 9:43 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at the home of his daughter in Peoria.

He was born Oct. 22, 1916, in Vermont Township, the son of Harry and Dora Stremmel Frederick. He married Ruby Chenoweth on Jan. 15, 1947, in Ipava. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Rodney (and Mary) of Table Grove and Gary (and Rhonda) of Bushnell; two daughters, Cindy (and Greg) Jones of Peoria and Kathy (and Herbert) Snowden of Table Grove; five grandchildren; one stepgranddaughter; two step-great-granddaughters; and one sister, Freda Bunch of Macomb.

A World War II Army veteran serving in the European Theater, he received the Purple Heart.

He owned and operated Red and White Grocery Store in Table Grove for several years. He also had worked for Norcross in Bushnell, retiring in 1983.

Services were held Saturday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Rev. Loren Curtis officiating. Burial was in Harris Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by Table Grove American Legion Post 413.
