Richard Etter

Richard Duane Etter, 89, of Rushville died at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 20, 2020, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Schuyler County, a son of Harold and Viva Wilson Etter. He married Elizabeth Claassen on April 27, 1962, in Rushville. She survives.

Also surviving are five children, James (and Melinda) Etter, Kathy (and Frank) Billingsley, Kristi (and Steve) Ament, Karen (and John Martin) Smith and Rick Etter (and Leslie Etter); one brother, William (and Betty) Etter; one sister, Peggy (and Carl) Settles; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one honorary great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, Harold Martin Etter; and one sister, Patricia Leverton.

He was a life-long Schuyler County farmer.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Schuyler American Legion Post #4.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Worthington Funeral Home in Rushville was in charge of arrangements.
