Harold DeMott

Harold DeMottHarold W. DeMott, 58, died Nov. 1, 2011, in Gillette, Wy.

He was born April 25, 1953, a son of Harold "Whitey" and Virginia Wolf DeMott in Macomb. He married Wendy Nielsen in 1976. He then married Roberta Allen in 1981.

Surviving are three daughters, Jessica DeMott of Stillwater, Minn., Corri DeMott of Dallas, Texas, and Holly DeMott of Adair; his mother, Virginia DeMott of Vermont; three sisters, Carolyn (and Rick) Beaird of Austin, Texas, Lisa (and Larry) Kendrick of Vermont and Marilyn (and Ed) Bohm of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; and five nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, one infant brother and one infant sister.

He graduated in 1972 from VIT High School in Table Grove. While in high school, he worked for the family gas station.

After graduating from high school, he was employed with Sun Spot Mine in Vermont till the mine was shut down.

He transferred to Gillette, Wy., in 1980 with Amax Coal Company.

He worked in the coal mining industry for 37 years. For the last year, he was employed for Rex's Hot Shot Trucking.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, at Ipava Berean Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Vermont Rescue Squad or Ipava Berean Christian Church.
