Edna Danner

Edna M. Danner, 83, of Ipava died at 5:42 p.m. March 2, 2009, at Astoria Gardens & Rehab Center.

She was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Bader, a daughter of Jesse and Ethel Danner Baum. She married John Danner on Aug. 30, 1947, in Ipava. He survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Teresa (and George) Goodell of Ipava and Tana (and Hurley) Crossman of Vermont; two sisters, Edith Danner of Chillicothe and Evelyn Hyzer of Lewistown; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Douglas Goodell; one brother, Marshall Baum; and two sisters, Esther Dutton and Marcia Shawgo.

She was a clerk at Camp Ellis in Ipava until it closed, then she went to Camp Grant in Rockford. She was bookkeeper for Sowers Texaco and Appliance in Ipava; and was treasurer for Village of Ipava for many years.

She was a member of Ipava Christian Church. She was Pleasant Township Clerk for many years, on Ipava Sesquicentennial Committee and helped build floats for Ipava Homecoming.

Services will be held at 11 a.m Thursday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava with Pastor Ray Greenfield officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ipava Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Ipava Rescue Squad or her church.
