John S. Danner, 88, of Macomb, formerly of Ipava, died at 1:21 p.m. July 8, 2014, at Wesley Village in Macomb.
He was born Oct. 29, 1925, the son of Lyle and Gayle Fisher Danner. He married Edna Marjorie Baum on Aug. 30, 1947, in Ipava. She preceded him in death on March 2, 2009.
He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Doug Goodell; and three sisters, Barbara Bradbury, Sarah Danner and Bernadine Danner.
Surviving are two daughters, Teresa Goodell of Ipava and Tana (and Hurley) Crossman of Vermont; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was a supervisor at Illinois Power in Havana.
He was a member of Ipava Christian Church where he served as Deacon; Ipava Fire Department, where he served as fire chief; Ipava Zoning Board where he served as chairman; Ipava Sesquicentennial Committee; and chairman of Ipava Cemetery Board.
Services were held Friday at Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery.
