George Goodell

George D. Goodell, 63, of Ipava died at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 16, 2011, at home.

He was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Macomb, a son of Ezra W. and Frances Cheeseman Goodell. He married Teresa Danner on Aug. 29, 1965, in Ipava. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Amy (and Lonnie) Lucas of Colchester; one son, Andrew (and Freda) Goodell of Marietta; one brother, Ray (and Kathy) Goodell of Vermont; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas Goodell; and one brother, Charles Goodell.

He was the set-up man at NTN Bower in Macomb. He also enjoyed working on the family farm.

He was a member of Ipava Christian Church; Ipava Fire Department; was active in the Ipava Toy Show for 15 years; raised cattle with his father; and raised hogs to show at Fulton County Fair.

Services were held Tuesday at his church with Reverend Ray Greenfield officiating. Burial was in Ipava Cemetery. Shawgo Memorial Home in Ipava was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to his church or Graham Hospital Home Healthcare and Hospice.
