CLARICE ALMA (TRONE) GEER DICKERSON

Clarice Dickerson

Clarice Dickerson, 89, of Rushville, died at 4:20 a.m. Friday, Feb. 24, 1995, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

She was born May 8, 1905 in Browning, a daughter of Carl A. and Bertha Kinnear Trone. She married Ansel Geer. She later married Arlo H. Dickerson June 26, 1939 in Yorkville. He died Dec. 1, 1992.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Gary “Maxine” Prather of Rushville; one son, Carl H. Geer of North Fort Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; six great, great-grandchildren; four sisters, Lois Jones of Rushville, Madelyn Dunlap of Colchester, Marcella Taylor of Sugar Grove, Jean Sieber of Mt. Carroll; three brothers, Don Trone of Lewistown, Glenn Trone of Walnut, and Howard Trone of Rushville.

She was preceded in death by four children, Francis George Geer, Marion Geer, Janet Dickerson and Mary Dickerson; two sisters, Nancy Trone and Mary Stambaugh; and two brothers, Carl Trone, Jr. and Virgil Trone.

She attended the Rushville Church of Christ where she was a member of the Tuesday Sewing Circle and was a volunteer at the Schuyler Jail Museum. A lifelong Democrat, she also was a member of the Schuyler County Democratic Women. She worked at the Elgin State Hospital before moving to Rushville where she worked for Bartlow Brothers, Inc. meat packing, retiring in 1968.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Worthington Funeral Home with Collis Trone officiating. Burial was in the Rushville City Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Schuyler Jail Museum or to Culbertson Hospital.
