BRANSFORD W. DANNER

Bransford Danner Of Astoria Dies

Bransford W. Danner, 77, of Astoria died at 10:03 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 1975, at Culbertson Hospital in Rushville.

He was born Oct. 16, 1897 in Fulton County, a son of William S. and Mary E. Stremmel Danner. He was married to Sidney Weber on May 10, 1922 in Decatur by Rev. S. S. Blough.

He became a member of the Church of the Brethren at an early age during the pastorate of Miss Niswonger of the United Brethren Church. He graduated from Astoria High School in 1915, and helped his parents in the Danner & LaRue store in Astoria. Later he became a farmer and dearly loved all of God’s growing things.

He is survived by his wife, two sons, Eugene of Springfield and Leon of Astoria; one daughter, Marianna of La Grange; 3 sisters, Mrs. Mae Peterson and Mrs. Edith Weber of Astoria and Mrs. Grace Ganoe of Macomb; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by one brother, Floyd in 1917 and one daughter, Jeannette in 1936.

He had deep feelings for his neighbors and friends and felt a humble concern wherever he could be a help and a representative of his Lord and Master —

Not until each loom is silent
And the shuttles cease to fly
Will God unroll the pattern
And explain the reason why
The dark threads are as needful
In the weaver’s skillful hand
As the threads of gold and silver
For the pattern which he planned.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Astoria Church of the Brethren with Rev. Donald Skiles officiating. Burial will be in the Astoria Cemetery.

There will be no family visitation.
